Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Society in general:
What are you going to do with a psychology degree?
How I responded:
I immediately shut it out. Studying psychology actually interested me, and after failing chemistry (mostly due to having no interest in it) I knew human biology was not for me.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
My mom told me I would have to go to the community college near my home, but the thought infuriated me because it was restricting and would require me to stay in my home town. I wanted to branch out so I made it happen by applying for loans & grants.
