Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Family:
It is too late for you to change career, restaurant life is all you know.
How I responded:
I realized that you can do anything you put your mind to! And, people who try to discourage you are just using their personal failure as the reasons why they think it is impossible. The key is to work hard and stay dedicated to a goal and never give up.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I came here at 9 years old without having any previous school training. When I started school here I did not know english or how to write my name. I worked harder than everyone else and was able to get good grades because of my dedication.
