We would be busy! My role requires alot of multi-tasking and the ability to identify urgent needs and to continually shift competing priorites. I meet with candidates and clients, participate in numerous meetings and trainings. As a recuriter I work end to end...from sourcing candidates to welcoming them on day one to the organiztion!
Ideally, you will like to work with people in a structured environment. You will need very strong interpersonal skills, leveraging a variety of media platforms. You should be experienced in leading conversations and meeting leaders at all levels. A great way to garner experience in HR is to work as an HR Analyst. There are many facets of HR, with recruiting being the most client and candidate focused.
Here's the first step for college students
Focus on Human Resource related classes, as well as business organization and technology, as all of these competencies will be great underpinnings to a career in HR.
