Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Parents:
Unfortunately, my parents did not encourage me to continue my education. While I am fortunate to have had a professional career, I would encourage anyone going into Business or Banking to work toward at least a 4 year degree.
How I responded:
My parents were not necessarily negative but they were not supportive. I looked to my professors for encouragement and employers and was lucky to find it.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I went through a divorce while having a young child and at the only point in my adult life that I was not working full-time. I found support in peer groups where we worked together for babysitting and social events.
