Life & Career Milestones

My path in life took a while to figure out

  • 1.

I reflected on the comments that my manager made on my annual review and took action.

  • 2.

My job was eliminated after 5 months in the new position.

  • 3.

I faced my fear of the unknown when I was offered a new opportunity.

Defining Moments

How I responded to discouragement

  • THE NOISE

    Messages from Society in general:

Someone said, 'Why would you give HER the position?'

  • How I responded:

I knew who I was, so while it hurt to think that there was even one person who might not have thought that I deserved the opportunity, I reminded myself that there is no better way to stop doubters than to succeed. I also genuinely belive that without haters we are all at risk of getting complacent. The most important voice to hear is your own. It will affect you whether it is negative or positive - so focus on what your own thoughts are about your ability. Only you truly know what you can do.
