Life & Career Milestones

My path in life took a while to figure out

  • 1.

Age 6, Mom bought me a Beatles cassette as opposed to the Joan Jett album I wanted.

  • 2.

Age 11, Dad bought me a drum set. Age 14, threatened to sell them when I broke the lawnmower.

  • 3.

Learned other instruments, wrote songs, started bands, rented four track recorders and started selling tapes.

  • 4.

Age 20, joined a band got signed to A&M (US) toured and recorded for five years across N. America.

  • 5.

Tired of road life, cities, and bad money experiences, went back to school, new career, family.

  • 6.

Never stopped music, hated new career, built studio over time, quit plan B career, opened studio.

Defining Moments

How I responded to discouragement

  • THE NOISE

    Messages from Family:

Yer Dreamin', it's over - despite a big recording contract, film/tv placements, a publishing deal, playing before thousands/millions, etc. Still did not have the confidence of those closest to me.

  • How I responded:

Turns out misery loves company and they weren't living their dreams even despite having (the illusion) of financial security they were jealous and full of regrets. Yup, and these were family members. Keep going - you may not get exactly what you want, when you want it - but if you keep at it you'll arrive at the destination that's right for you.
