  • 6.

I found I hated all the travel but still loved working with students.

Defining Moments

How I responded to discouragement

  • THE NOISE

    Messages from Parents:

You should stay here and go to community college because we can't send you to school.

  • How I responded:

I started researching schools who were good in the major I wanted but had a lesser cost so that the price was the same as a community college. I decided to find out more on my own.

Experiences and challenges that shaped me

  • My family did not have money to send me to college so I researched all the schools to find the best school with the best price to reduce the cost.

  • Having Dyslexia made it harder to study and learn but always using my resources and friends to help me made a difference. I also used many strategies to study and make the material easier for me to consume.

  • I let this drive me to gain the skills to go farther than my parents in the work field. I knew education was the key to make a career out of what I love.
