Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Society in general:
You should stop playing in a band. You should stop skateboarding. You should work a regular job. You're too old to be doing things a kid does.
How I responded:
It's cliche, but you really do need to believe that you can do whatever it is that you set your mind to. Everyone has doubts about what they can achieve, or if they should even try. My advice is to always try. If you want it, you can have it. Most of the time, you just need to earn it.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I was completely broke during my 20's. It was really hard to get by. Moving to New York City only made it harder.
