Day to Day

Well, I will be starting in November, 2013. However, during my internship, I helped assess mothers and babies. I would help coaching with deep breathing during laboring. There is lots and lots of education involved for new mothers such as teaching breast feeding techniques, what to look out for to prevent postpartum hemorrhage, how to prevent breast engorgement, and many other things. There was wonderful teamwork among the Labor and Delivery nurses which truly made my experience positive.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for college students

Stay focused on the pathway to becoming a Registered Nurse. All the tools are there for you, and you really just have to stay focused. I wanted to be done before I was 26 y / o, but life happens and no matter what obstacles, I set my mind to pursue it and I stayed focused. Know your core values; Do you like helping people? Do you go the extra mile to help your co-workers complete their task? Do you want to make a change in health care?
