I went to work for General Motors in their accounting department because the pay was much better.
I left after 3 years because the company was too big and I didn't feel my talents were being used.
I combined my retail experience with my accounting background and went to work for a shop. cent. dev
I worked there for over 40 years and retired last year.

Major in Accounting or Accounting / Finance. This background will help in getting hired and is a "trade" that gives you the ability to be productive immediately.
