Life & Career Milestones
I've taken a lot of twists and turns
1.
I studied international relations and economics, not knowing yet how I'd merge those interests into a career.
2.
I landed my first job at a tech company without a tech background—I was drawn in by their spirit of innovation.
3.
After success in business, I craved more impact and took a leap into graduate school to explore policy and public good.
4.
Pivoting from business to social impact felt risky, but I knew helping people thrive was my true north.
5.
I found my calling in venture philanthropy, supporting social entrepreneurs tackling big problems around the world.
6.
Now as CEO of Axim Collaborative, I work across sectors to smooth the path from high school to career for all students.
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Society in general:
A career path needs to be linear.
How I responded:
I originally gathered that a career path needs to be linear and you take specific steps to get from point A to point B, and so on. However, I realized that a career path is actually more of a mosaic—a canvas with different colors that can be painted at different times. Some of the tiles might be work and some might be life. That resonated with me a lot more than the idea of a set linear path. Shifting to that mindset can help open up more options and opportunities for fulfillment and success.
