Milestones

My road in life has been direct.
I grew up in Iran and moved to the U.S. with my family after high school.
I had always been drawn to math and science, so I decided to pursue engineering.
I started at community college and then transferred to UCLA, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
Electrical engineering is a pretty abstract field of study and I felt like I had barely scratched the surface after graduating, so I continued on to pursue a master’s degree in electrical engineering.
During graduate school, I got an internship at the semiconductor company Broadcom, which led to a full-time position as a product engineer after I graduated.
I continued to build my career in engineering and technology, and ultimately landed at Syntiant Corp, where I currently work as the director of product engineering.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for college students

I recommend starting your journey at a good start-up company. It provides a better environment for learning about yourself and your goals. It's harder to do that at a large organization because you're more likely to become one of the many.
