My road in life took a while to figure out.
I started working for Walmart as a store associate—I had aspirations to move up, so I made sure to always put my best foot forward.
I eventually transitioned from the store to the warehouse and worked as a warehouse associate.
In 2020, I tried to go back to school but the COVID-19 pandemic hit and the schools shut down.
When Walmart announced that they would train warehouse and store associates to become truck drivers, I jumped at the opportunity.
After passing all of the background checks, I went to Sacramento, California, for 12 weeks for the actual training.
I now work as a night driver for the Walmart fleet.
I’m also currently working towards getting a business administration degree with a focus in management.
