If we can focus on the concept that quality of life is the currency of the future, I think we can make tremendous strides in improving our communities.

My road in life has been direct.
I grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and was fortunate to live in a walkable community with easy access to shops and necessities.
When I moved to Buffalo, New York, for college, I quickly realized the challenges of trying to get around without a car.
I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in public health.
I’ve since built my career focusing on the intersection between public health and the built environment.
I currently work as the executive director of GObike Buffalo, where our mission is to develop complete streets, trails, and greenways to increase access to safe travel.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for everyone

Get involved in your community. Understand the local political landscape. A key part of GObike's success has been building relationships with people in leadership positions in both the political and business landscape as well as at the community level. Relationships are key to creating change. Start talking to people. Listen to them and understand their lived experiences and how current or future investments may impact them. Look for organizations developing safe complete streets near you.
