Life & Career Milestones
My path in life has been direct
1.
I stumbled into teaching while waiting for a music therapy internship, which led to me discovering my passion for working with neurodiverse children.
2.
I earned my master’s in special education, focusing on neurodiversity across the learning spectrum.
3.
I joined Chesapeake Bay Academy in 2013 and faced the challenge of rebuilding during a time of declining enrollment in private schools.
4.
Within six months, I proposed and implemented a makerspace that became a signature program of the school.
5.
Launching a virtual program for homeschooling families this year marked a step toward transforming education into an a la carte experience.
6.
I’ve been leading Chesapeake Bay Academy for 12 years now, where I emphasize collaboration and the philosophy that no one person has all the answers, but together, we can meet every child’s needs.
