Day In The Life Of An Executive Director In Education Philanthropy

My Day to Day

My days are spent working with schools, nonprofits, employers, and community leaders to create career pathways that help students prepare for the future of work. I meet with partners across the country, study education and workforce trends, and help fund ideas that open more opportunities for young people. What drives me most is helping students feel supported, connected, and confident about the futures they’re building.

Skills & Education

Here's the path I took:

  • High School

  • Bachelor's Degree

    Supply Chain Management

    Arizona State University

  • Graduate Degree

    Counseling

    Arizona State University

  • Doctorate

    Education Leadership

    Harvard Graduate School of Education

Life & Career Milestones

I've taken a lot of twists and turns

  • 1.

I started at community college to save money, then transferred to Arizona State University and graduated debt-free with a business degree.

  • 2.

My first jobs at Intel and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab taught me business skills, but I realized I wanted work that felt more meaningful.

  • 3.

Helping students explore their futures inspired me to leave business behind and earn a master’s in counseling psychology.

  • 4.

As a school counselor, I saw students carrying invisible barriers, and I wanted to help build systems that gave them more opportunity.

  • 5.

I stepped into education policy and workforce systems work so I could help more students prepare for college, careers, and life.

  • 6.

Working with the U.S. Department of Education during COVID-19 showed me how policy decisions can shape opportunities for millions of people.

  • 7.

I now work as the executive director of the Pathways Impact Fund at Strive Together, where I help create career pathways for students.
