Day In The Life

Program Lead, Career and Technical Education

I connect young people to careers by funding programs that spark learning and lead to lasting opportunities.

My Day to Day

My day starts with getting my kids ready and squeezing in a workout before heading into the office. We have an open floor plan and no one has an office, which is great for connection and collaboration. I spend time in meetings—both in person and on Zoom—collaborating with colleagues and connecting with partners. Sometimes I get to go out in the field and visit schools to see our work in action.

Skills & Education

Here's the path I took:

  • High School

  • Bachelor's Degree

    History

    Dartmouth College

  • Graduate Degree

    Social Policy and Planning

The London School of Economics and Political Science

Life & Career Milestones

My path in life took a while to figure out

  • 1.

I grew up in New York City, and my love for this city fueled my desire to give back through public service.

  • 2.

After grad school, I applied to every job I could in the New York City administration, eventually landing a role at the Department of Transportation.

  • 3.

Even though I knew nothing about transportation, I threw myself into the role and kept showing up with curiosity and drive.

  • 4.

I spent nearly ten years working my way up in public service under Mayor Bloomberg, taking on more and more responsibility.

  • 5.

I transitioned from city government to Bloomberg Philanthropies, where I now oversee our education funding in career and technical education.

  • 6.

I’ve built a career around being open, taking chances, and working hard—especially on the tasks that seem small but turn out to matter most.
