Life & Career Milestones
My path in life has been direct
1.
I entered college convinced I would become a teacher but after taking my first few methods classes, I knew I needed to go a different direction.
2.
Upon graduating, I knew I was very employable but I didn’t have a plan for what my career was going to look like.
3.
Working as a waitress, I met someone who did medical education for a pharmaceutical company and offered me a job—it was my introduction to the throughline of my career working alongside education.
4.
I later found a job working in the Student Learning Center at Franklin University helping adult learners return to school—I realized there were more ways to make an impact in education than teaching.
5.
I found my way to working for a STEM scholarship project, where I helped increase STEM engagement and retain talent in Ohio.
6.
From there, I took a chance on a role at Battelle that wasn’t even on my radar and found a way to connect people, resources, and STEM opportunities.
Defining Moments
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I was diagnosed with ADHD at 30 years old. I've learned to work on my executive functioning skills to be able to be more selective, sit down, plan, follow through, and execute the plan.
