My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
I always thought I wanted to become a teacher until my junior year of high school when I discovered my passions for government and journalism.
2.
I graduated from Ball State University with a double major in political science and journalism.
3.
After college, I got an internship with the Indiana State Senate and then was hired full-time.
4.
I took a break from work to have my first child.
5.
When I rejoined the workforce, I went into workforce development and have been in this field since!
6.
I currently work for EmployIndy as the vice president for K-12, where I help underserved and underemployed youth and young adults find their career path.
Defining Moments
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
My dad enlisted and my mom got married after high school, so I'm a first-generation college student. While my parents didn't go to college, they encouraged me to go. I also found support and guidance from my high school government teacher.
