In order to help my mentees be the best versions of themselves, I need to exemplify that myself. I've learned that I need to not exert myself too much and spend time focusing on self-care so that I can present the best version of myself.

Imagine The Future Roadtrip

My gosh, okay, first off, this is a dream of mine. Okay, we're gonna do this. [SOUND] [LAUGH] Okay. &gt;&gt; We are at the very first stop on our road trip. &gt;&gt; [LAUGH] You all right? &gt;&gt; Hi, friends. &gt;&gt; For the next four weeks, we're gonna be going across the country from Montana to Boston. The theme of the road trip is all about imagining the future, and we're looking at it through the lens of health equity. We are talking to people in biotech, we're talking to professors, and people that you wouldn't traditionally think of in the health space, but they're all working towards a common mission of imagining a healthier future. &gt;&gt; The thing that I truly feel a deep desire about is ecosystem restoration, and it's not always easy knowing how to get there. &gt;&gt; I'd like to find a way where we can instill confidence in trusting your intuition and not compromising that, right? What's your intuition about, is this good for me? I mean, that's healthcare 101. &gt;&gt; To be able to talk to all these cool individuals who are having their hand in the science. I'm excited to get a real actual close look at what they're doing and how we can be a part of it. &gt;&gt; We're trying to showcase what's possible moving forward by incorporating a lot of indigenous knowledge into our food ways. And it's all part of just working towards food sovereignty. And we have to realize that you can just put food everywhere. &gt;&gt; Part of going on this road trip is learning and figuring out what my healthcare goals are and what that physically manifests itself into. &gt;&gt; Always come back to your foundation, this passion that you have for health equity, if it's those things or whatever it is, just keep finding that, because a lot of stuff is gonna come at you. You're not gonna solve it all. Just take a step each day in your own direction and your own purpose. And whatever will come, you will be your best self bringing yourself to the table for that. [MUSIC]
