Life & Career Milestones
My path in life has been direct
1.
Growing up, I helped my dad clean construction sites—it taught me to work hard and also inspired me to pursue higher education because I didn’t want to continue with construction in the future.
2.
My grandmother, who only had an eighth-grade education, constantly reminded me to get every bit of education I could.
3.
I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Utah and then built a career working in higher education at my alma mater.
4.
As the workforce changed with technology and AI, I became passionate about helping education stay connected to real careers.
5.
I joined Strada Education Foundation, a social impact organization, to make more of an impact connecting education and employment.
6.
Now at Western Governors University, I continue to work to build programs that blend affordability, workforce skills, and AI tools so students can thrive in a changing world.
