I lead a brand new medical school that teaches students, does research, and takes care of people.
Day to Day
On average days, I meet with a lot of students to discuss improving curriculum, I work on setting up new models of care, and I talk to community leaders about best practices and spreading the word about our school.
Skills & Qualities Beyond School
You have to love science. It's the foundation of medicine and critical to the job. You also need to be a people person and enjoy interacting with people. I think a lot of skills you gain by doing the job. Have the basics, but be willing to learn and grow at your job.
