Helping People

  • When he was in college, he had the option to do a "study-abroad" program following a political candidate on their campaign.
  • Was geared up to drop out of school and follow this Congressman to Washington D.C., but his candidate lost.
  • With all of that momentum behind him, he moved to D.C. anyways, got a job working in the House of Representatives.
  • Had a great time working in politics, but made an abrupt left turn, went back to L.A. to work as a talent agent.
  • One of his professional surfer friends had been bringing water filtration systems to the impoverished countries he visited.
  • Christian went along with him on a trip to bring water and supplies to Haiti after the earthquake.
  • Says it wasn't like a "calling," those days in Haiti were rough and exhausting, but he knew he wanted to keep helping people.
  • His job at Waves for Water combines surfing, helping people, shaping policy, traveling and storytelling-it's perfectly tailored for him.
