Life & Career Milestones

My path in life has been direct

  • 1.

I grew up in Beirut, Lebanon, and left at 16 to attend medical school in Lithuania, completing my medical training between Lithuania and Sweden.

  • 2.

I came to the United States in 2000 and began working in medical education, using high-fidelity simulations to help future doctors strengthen their communication and teamwork.

  • 3.

As I looked for better ways to document patient care, I began experimenting with software and slowly found myself becoming excited about medical informatics.

  • 4.

I moved deeper into informatics as electronic health records expanded, working alongside physicians to adopt new technology and improve how they delivered care.

  • 5.

My career led me into leadership roles at large healthcare and technology organizations, including Cerner, now Oracle Health, and Community Health Systems.

  • 6.

After years in large organizations, I wanted to be closer to where care was happening, so I joined San Juan Regional Medical Center and moved my family to Farmington, New Mexico.

  • 7.

I continued learning as healthcare technology evolved, earning AI and healthcare certificates from MIT and Johns Hopkins to better understand how to use these tools safely.

  • 8.

Today, I lead physician informatics work that uses data, technology, and AI to support care teams while keeping patient quality and safety at the center.
