Advice for getting started
I didn't really overcome this, it evolved into an understanding. I eventually realized that working on the farm was not going to provide the kind of life I wanted to live. That's when I started exploring other options and figuring out how I could combine aspects of that life into a career I loved.

My path in life has been direct
1.
Born and raised in Utah on a farm—says he knew it was a lifestyle he didn’t want for his future, but it taught him the value of hard work.
2.
A lot of his childhood was impacted by his interest in the outdoors and sports.
3.
Right out of high school, he served on a church mission for two years.
4.
Attended Salt Lake Community College with the goal of one day becoming a lawyer.
5.
After an internship at a law office, he decided that was not the path for him, and went on to earn an associate’s degree in business.
6.
A year into college, he got married and was starting a family when he found himself in need of some extra money—was hired on by an insurance company as an underwriter.
7.
Shortly after, he was recruited to work for Veracity Insurance Solutions as a broker with a focus on the outdoor recreation industry and has worked there ever since.
8.
His expertise in the insurance industry covers many areas, but he has maintained a specific focus on outdoor activities like rock climbing, ropes courses, zip lines, and adventure parks.

How I responded:
I didn't really overcome this, it evolved into an understanding. I eventually realized that working on the farm was not going to provide the kind of life I wanted to live. That's when I started exploring other options and figuring out how I could combine aspects of that life into a career I loved.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
Got married and started a family young and found myself in need of extra money. That's how I found the insurance industry. My first job was as an underwriter and that helped me get established in life.
When I first started college, I wanted to be an attorney and even interned at the Attorney General's office. I saw a lot of things I didn't like and decided that wasn't the right path for me. I started working in insurance by accident.
