Life & Career Milestones
My path in life has been direct
1.
I was born and raised in Oakland, California.
2.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
3.
I knew I was meant to help others and make a difference in my community—I started as a community health advocate, helping victims of gun violence move forward in a positive way.
4.
I decided I wanted to be able to advocate for policy change at a higher level, so I went back to school for my master’s in public policy.
5.
I then came back home to Oakland and got a job working for the city’s new department of transportation where I led equitable engagement in our communities.
6.
I joined Square, where I led the opening of the Square office in Oakland and supported entrepreneurs, artists, and nonprofits in participating in the local economy and community.
7.
I’m now working as the global social impact lead for Block, formerly Square, where I continue to work with others to collectively make a positive impact in our local communities.
