Life & Career Milestones
My path in life has been direct
- 1. - Because she'd had so many surgeries as a child, she'd been around doctors, had an interest in medicine.
- 2. - She wasn't sure if she would be able to be a doctor because of her height.
- 3. - Realized that no college student knows if they can be a doctor; "you haven't done it yet."
- 4. - Went for it, made it clear in her essays that she was a little person.
- 5. - Was accepted into her dream school, Johns Hopkins University; they didn't think her height would be a problem.
- 6. - Felt good about that acceptance because at other schools, she'd had to spend her interviews defending her abilities.
- 7. - Says her resilience comes from her belief that "life is short"; she wants to enjoy every moment she can.
- 8. - Now works as a neonatologist at Texas Children's Hospital and stars on a reality show about her family life.
