Day In The Life Of A Development Manager For Offshore Wind

Milestones

My road in life has taken me all over.
I studied business and communications in college.
After graduating, I gained a lot of career experience through a variety of areas.
I worked in government for a land preservation group and learned a lot about the nuances of land preservation from an economic perspective.
I had a particular interest in water quality, which led me to a role at Stony Brook University where I helped to co-found and run a water technology center.
I eventually found my way to offshore wind and continued to build my career there.
I’m currently working as the head of New York market strategy for a renewable energy company.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for everyone

Offshore wind offers a lot of opportunity for all types of people with different types of interests and backgrounds. If you're interested in getting into the field but you're not sure if you have the right background, make sure you raise your hand when you can and ask for the opportunity. Ask to be given a shot. That's the best way to figure out what you like and what you should be doing.
