Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Friends:
Teachers make no money. You can make more in business than in education. You can't take off when you want, you have prescribed breaks.
How I responded:
Does it make sense? If it doesn't then ignore it and keep going. If it does make sense, think about how much it would affect you in getting closer to the life you want to live.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
Finances were always a constant in my world. I understood the basics of finance but still struggled for a long time to make ends meet. It took time and maturing for me to get to a point where I'm okay with my finances. Still not great, but okay!
Being part of the LGBT community was something that I struggled with when I first entered college. I wasn't sure what my identity was, and I think I ended up suppressing it and it came out in negative habits. Once I accepted it, things were better!
