My path in life took a while to figure out
- 1. - Graduating from college!
- 2. - Having a horrible first interview and not getting the job!
- 3. - Getting the call that I got my first teaching job but then finding out that it was not in the grade level or area I wanted. I then had to get certified in a different teaching field.
- 4. - Getting certified and finding out that I ended up in the right teaching field.
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
- THE NOISE - Doubting myself when I began teaching. I knew the kind of teacher I wanted to become, but it was hard work at the beginning.
- How I responded: - To overcome my doubts, I reminded myself why I became a teacher.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
- Growing up my parents never let me see how hard it was to put five daughters through college. I learned years later that is was not always easy making ends meet. My parents helped my sisters and I get through college debt free.
