My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
Worked doing phone technical support for Apple computers (before they were cool).
2.
Stumbled into certification - someone sent me to a class by mistake.
3.
Really thought teaching people would be cool.
4.
"Jumped" by asking a training center what it would take to teach technology.
5.
Did everything they said.
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Family:
You're an introvert. You should be sitting at a computer screen all day.
How I responded:
Realize there are no introverts, just guarded people who are too scared to take a step. Realizing that the more steps you take, the easier it becomes to take more steps.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I didn't think I could learn anything - I was too "ADHD"...not true. People just want to label me because I didn't fit in the norm. The key is I lacked motivation. If I know I'll be speaking to a classroom of 100 people, I can learn anything.
