Milestones

My road in life has been direct.
After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, she was "ready to conquer the world."
She had a dual degree in chemistry and archaeology, and she was preparing to go to medical school.
She'd done research in a chemistry lab during her undergrad, and she realized that she was more interested in that than in going to med school.
Now she works for a national lab in the applied research area, where she can do hands-on work.
Her drive comes from looking at big problems and using her applied science knowledge to find solutions.
She's currently developing an inorganic sponge-like material that "cleans up" radioactive materials and was used after the Fukushima meltdown.
Highly recommends finding mentors; says that by talking to and watching the people around you, you'll figure out what works and what doesn't.
For her, success means truly loving what you're doing, and finding something that will continually engage and challenge you.
Keep following my journey
