BIOGRAPHY:
Paul Mecurio didn't take any sort of traditional route to get to where he is today. A graduate of Georgetown University Law School, Paul started working as a mergers and acquisitions attorney and then as an investment banker in New York City. He realized that working in the business world wasn't fulfilling enough for him, and so Paul secretly started writing and performing in comedy clubs by night. Soon he decided to give up everything, including his comfortable job, in order to peruse comedy. After trying comedy out for a while, he soon went back to banking in order to pay the bills. He soon realized that he had made a mistake: he went back to comedy full-time and shortly thereafter became a writer in 1996 for The Daily Show. He's never looked back.
