BIOGRAPHY:
With a dual major in chemistry and psychology, Katrina began questioning her future when she was a college senior. Unsure what to do with her life, she looked inside herself for answers, focusing on her two passions: horses and cooking. She chose cooking. Three days after graduating, she moved to Paris and applied to Le Cordon Bleu culinary school, where she was accepted. Once there, however, she became disenchanted with its emphasis on traditional French cuisine. She wanted to experiment with spices and herbs and foods from around the world. She planned to write a cookbook and invent recipes of her own. While preparing truffles one evening in her kitchen, she had a sudden epiphany that altered her destiny: Inspired by a necklace from India that she was wearing, she invented twenty-two recipes that combined the chocolate food experience with elements of storytelling from different cultures.
