BIOGRAPHY:

Jim Lyons served as vice president for policy and communications at Oxfam America, an international development and humanitarian organization, from 2006 to 2009. While at Oxfam, Jim built the organization's policy and communications division and led its communications campaigns. It seemed Jim always had a passion for people and the environment they live in. Prior to his position at Oxfam, Jim was the executive director of the Casey Trees Endowment Fund, a nonprofit that restores the tree canopy of the nation's capital. Jim also served in the U.S. Department of Agriculture for eight years during the Clinton administration where he oversaw our nation's forests and the development of national conservation programs. Jim earned a master's degree from Yale University's School of Forestry and Environmental Studies where he was also a professor from 2001 to 2003. Jim's philosophy has always been, "How can I make the world a better place?"
