Gwendolyn Zepeda grew up in a fairly poor and unstable family where no pushed her to do better for herself. Luckily, she had a mentor who had encouraged her to apply to college at the University of Texas, where she was accepted. But she ended up getting pregnant at a young age and had to leave college because she wasn’t doing well in her classes. She began writing soon after she left college in an attempt to create a stable life for herself. As a new mother, writing and blogging became her creative outlet. She realized that she wanted to write books and become a novelist. Her books include Houston, We Have a Problema and Growing Up with Tamales. Gwendolyn continues to blog on her own website and on televisionwithoutpity.com.
