Christine Boskoff started off as an engineer, far off from the path that later led her to be in what most people would call a risky profession. After Christine grew tired of her job, she decided to take a two-day climbing course. As she made it to the top of the climbing wall, she realized how much she loved it. Since she discovered her passion for climbing, Christine has climbed to some of the highest peaks in the world such as Mount Everest and Mount Kilimanjaro, and is the only woman to reach six 8,000-meter peaks. Christine decided after accomplishing these great feats that this is what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. In '97 she quit her job and she and her husband bought Mountain Madness, a climbing school, when it was about to go out of business. Since then Christine has helped others who also share a love for the sport.
Producer's Note: Christine tragically passed away in 2006 while attempting to climb a mountain in the Sichuan Province of China.
