Chris's Open Road
Chris Wink, like a lot of students, didn’t know where his life was headed, but had a variety of interests and loved to learn. Realizing, however, that learning wasn’t a career to sustain life, he started feeling the undeniable pressure to make money. Unfortunately, Chris didn’t receive much encouragement to follow what he calls the 'bliss path'. Chris was faced with this challenge to either choose a career that would make him money, also making him unhappy, or to go down the bliss path. With very little, he started the Blue Man Group with his two other friends. This life wasn’t about the awards, the fame, or the achievements, but the day-to-day process of preparing for a show and doing what he loves to do with his friends, walking down his 'bliss path.'

When is the last time you took a risk?

Discuss
Most Recent
risk
i have never take a big risk in my life yet there is some minor risk that i have been taken whether doing hw or going out with friend and have a bad grade the day after
Noise
I think everyone should listen to their inside thoughts instead of what other people say because it is their lives, not others\' lives. They should just ignore the noises.
Bliss
I liked how this speaker said that sucess is not when you accomplish something, it is when you begin doing what you love to do. I think this would make life more meaningful because you wouldnt be chasing after a specific thing, you would just always be happy because you are doing what you love.
Took a Risk
I\'ve been taking risks my whole life. I\'ve failed. A LOT. I\'ve failed so much. I hope this adds up to something. But I\'m not afraid of risk anymore. Just my parents. Still need to get over that one.
The last time I took a risk...
We take a risk every day by walking out the door without a plan.
I think this really ties into the ideas that are confronted in the movie "Little Miss Sunshine" about Proust and taking what life is as its worst moments and not measuring the value of a life by its achievements, also its the journey down the road that ultimately matters.
Be satisfied with what you do everyday, not just the end product. I love that!! If you "follow your bliss" (Joseph Campbell was a brilliant brilliant man) you'll he happy along the way, even through the hardships. Beautiful.
Wow! This guy is nuts! (like nuts, meaning awesome...)
